Agriculture Minister Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak said this year’s floods have damaged crops worth Tk 1,323 crore in 37 districts of Bangladesh.
He said the amount of cropland submerged in the floodwaters is 2 lakh 57 thousand 146 hectares, of which the amount of damaged land is 1 lakh 58 thousand 814 hectares. The number of affected farmers is 12 lakh 72 thousand 151 people.
Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak briefed it speaking at a press briefing from the ministry’s conference room on Wednesday (August 18th) on crop damage caused by the floods and the steps taken by the agriculture ministry to deal with it.

The Agriculture Minister said various incentive action plans have been adopted so that the farmers affected by the floods can make a comeback. So far, agricultural implements worth Tk 17 crore 58 lakh have been distributed among 2 lakh 39 thousand 631 affected small and marginal farmers.
