Chinese President Xi Jinping has instructed the military to step up war preparations. Besides, seeing the worst situation, he asked them to firmly defend their sovereignty.
According to a report by India’s NDTV Online, Xi issued the directive on Tuesday ahead of a confrontation between Indian and Chinese troops near the Line of Control (LoC) on the Sikkim border. however he did not mention any specific threat.
Xi Jinping, general secretary of the ruling Communist Party (CPC) and chief of the 20 million-strong military, made the remarks while attending a plenary meeting of representatives of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and the People’s Armed Police Force during the ongoing parliamentary session in Beijing.
China’s state-run Xinhua news agency said the Chinese president had called on the military to think about the worst-case scenario, increase training and prepare for war effectively, as well as prepare for war.
India and China have recently increased their troop numbers in several areas, including the LACs in Ladakh and North Sikkim. This has increased the tension between the two sides. They have given clear signals to strengthen their respective positions.
