England all-rounder cricketer Ben Stokes has run his very first half marathon to raise money for Englands’s National Health Service (NHS).
Ben Stokes who was a part of England’s World Cup-winning team has completed the run in 1:39 hours and he will donate the money raised to NHS Charities Together and national children’s cricket charity Chance to Shine amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Ben Stokes, who completed the half marathon near his home in England, inspired fans to donate for a fundraising page set up by three amateur cricketers who ran full marathons in their home back garden.
After finishing the half marathon, in a video posted on his social media, Stokes said: “That was so hard! Please donate if you can, it’s all for a great cause: the NHS Charities Together and Chance to Shine.”
