Three Bangladeshis have been infected with coronavirus (COVID-19), Institute of Epidemiology, Diseases Control and Research (IEDCR) confirmed today.
Of them, two recently returned from Italy and are being treated at a hospital in the city, an IEDCR spokesperson said.
A family member of one of the two who returned from Italy was the third person affected with the virus, reports The Daily Star.
All three have been admitted to a hospital in the city, an IEDCR spokesperson said.
Doctors have said they are in stable condition at the moment. The affected are aged between 20 to 35 years and tested positive for the virus yesterday.
Three more Bangladeshis who came in contact with the infected people have been quarantined.
“Do not panic now. The most effective prevention for this disease is exercising caution,” personal physician of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Medicine Specialist Professor ABM Abdullah told reporters.
