Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed vowed to regain his spot in the national team after showing a good performance in the recently concluded India tour with Bangladesh A team.
In Dr.(capt)K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament, known as Mini Ranji Trophy in Bengaluru, Taskin bowled 73 overs in last two four-day matches and had taken seven wickets. Because he bowled so many overs, straight after coming off injury lay off, was a matter of huge satisfaction for him.
Taskin was included in the national team during the tour of Sri Lanka but failed to make it into the playing XI. He however played the practice game there but didn’t fare that well, taking just one wicket for 57 runs.
“I am happy with my return to the national team. I was injured more than one and half years. I tried to make myself fit and I’m thankful that I was with the team in the last series. Maybe I did not get to play but I’m fit and improving in every department. I hope more opportunities will come.” Taskin said here on Sunday.
He said now his all attention towards Tiger’s upcoming home series where he will try to seize every opportunity giving his best for the national team.
“My main focus is in the camp. I will try to give my best. If I get any opportunity I will grab that opportunity,” Taskin added.
“I performed well in India, I became more fit. But I think there are more areas to improve. I was included (Sri Lanka tour) as reward (of performing in India) and it was a big achievement for me. I hope more opportunities will come. I’m focusing on my improvement. Rest depends on the luck.”
