Director of International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), Dr. Saleemul Huq has been selected among the “World’s 100 Most Influential People in Climate Policy for 2019”.
The declaration came last evening on the official site of Apolitical, a global network for government helping public servants find the ideas, people and partners they need to solve the hardest challenges.
Saleemul Huq is a Bangladeshi scientist who is founding director of the International Centre for Climate Change and Development and a senior fellow at the International Institute for Environment and Development.
Huq has been a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. He has published numerous reports and articles in the space and was awarded the Burtoni Award, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the science of adaptation to climate change, for his work.
Drawing on hundreds of nominations from experts and leading organizations, this list celebrates politicians, civil servants, academics and activists.
Those recognized include high-profile advocates whose work is indispensable to raising awareness and demanding change. Others are rising stars who are making their mark in local communities and are a driving force behind governmental progress.
