The launch of Bangladesh’s first satellite Bangabandhu-1 has been delayed again.
Although the satellite was expected to be launched on May 4, the date may be postponed to May 7, Telecom and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar said on Wednesday.
He spoke at a roundtable, titled ‘Bangabandhu Satellite: A potential outer space’ organised by Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission or BTRC.
Bangladesh was preparing for the launch of Bangabandhu-1 on Dec 16, Victory Day. It was due to be launched from Florida.
Bangladesh later planned to launch the the satellite on May 4 from the Cape Canaveral launch pad in Florida using SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket, BTRC Chairman Shahjahan Mahmood told on Apr 11.
