One person has been killed in an alleged shootout with Detective Branch (DB) of police in Mymensingh’s Fulpur Upazila.
The man has yet to be identified, but police say he is approximately 35 years old. Authorities have yet to identify them.
District DB Police OC Ashiqur Rahman said that a police team had been conducting an operation to arrest criminals in Fulpur’s Shakhapara area around midnight on Friday based on a tip.
“The robbery gang noticed the police presence and opened fire and the team retaliated. An unknown robber, approximately 35 years old, was shot. He was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where he later died from his wounds.”
Two police personnel were also injured in the incident, Rahman said.
