‘Life of blood donors is worthwhile. Because their blood donation can save other’s life’ – NBR Chairman Mr. Md. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan,nd said on Friday morning at the Institute of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) building.
He emphasized on the development of lifestyle apart from the economic development of the country. He said “we are progressing economically. Our country is progressing. Bangladesh has recently been upgraded from low-income country (LIC) to middle-income country. In future, Bangladesh will be upgraded to a developed country. But, our lifestyle hasn’t been improved yet. If we are not happy in our personal lives, we will not be able to enjoy the privileges of the economic development.”
He appreciated the Quantum foundation initiative. In the program, donors who donated blood for at least 10,25 and 50 times were honored with crests, medals, and certificates.
The welcome speech of the program was given by Dr. A B M Yunus, Professor of the Department of Hematology at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. He said that the 35% demands of the safe blood come from volunteer blood donors.
Until January 2018, Quantum Foundation was able to provide 9,49,344 units blood.
