Grameenphone Ltd. has appointed Kazi Mahboob Hassan as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, effective from April 1, 2018.
Kazi has been serving as Head of Transformation for the company since February 2016. Since his joining he has made a significant contribution to GP’s innovation agenda, especially, in leading the GP Accelerator program to an exemplary height.
Congratulating Kazi on his new role, Grameenphone CEO Michael Foley said that Kazi had given Grameenphone a strong lead in its transformation journey over the last two years. ‘I’m sure that his experience in the transformation of the company and his experience across various industries will prove to be invaluable in guiding the company on its future path,’ the CEO added.
Kazi Mahboob Hassan thanked the management for their confidence in his abilities and expressed his excitement with the new role. “I’m honored to be entrusted with this new position. Working with Grameenphone is a rewarding experience as our work contributed to empowering the people of Bangladesh,” he said.
Prior to joining Grameenphone in 2016, Kazi was a Senior Management Consultant at Deloitte UK where he was responsible for leading business transformation programs for clients across a variety of sectors, including Telecom, Oil & Gas, Consumer Business, and Financial Services.
Kazi has also held senior positions in Finance and Marketing with IBM UK and BAT Bangladesh. He has a BBA from University of Dhaka (IBA) and an MBA degree from University of Oxford. He is also a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) with professional accountancy body ACCA, UK.
