Einstein once used a solar eclipse to prove Newton wrong

News Hour:

Albert Einstein used May 1919’s total solar eclipse to prove gravity can bend spacetime causing light to take a different path, which challenges Newton’s theory of space being a fixed background on which gravity acts. The eclipse helped astronomers observe stars’ positions during the daytime, showing a change from their usual position due to bending of starlight by Sun’s gravity.
