A 11-year-old old boy of a private school in Lalmatia, ended up hitting a schoolgirl near Shankar Bus Stand in Dhanmondi area. This terrible accident occurred on Satmasjid Road on 23th may morning at at around 7:30am.
The 10-year-old little girl, suffered injuries in her ankle and waist and underwent primary treatment at a nearby hospital. Girl’s father had also been injured to save his child.
Sub-inspector of Dhanmondi Police Station, told that the boy took the keys of his father’s Toyota Noah microbus from their driver and set out on the road at around 7:30am, without his parents’ consent.
He said that as the girl was crossing the road with her father, the boy hit her, apparently after losing control of the vehicle.
No case was filed in this regard considering the boy’s age and because the fathers of both the boy and girl were acquainted. But the boy was fined Tk 850 under Motor Vehicle Ordinance-1983, SI Alamgir said.
As the parents knew each other, thereby they resolved the matter mutually, claimed Md Abdul Latif, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dhanmondi Police Station.
“They gave a written statement deciding not to lodge any case. Therefore, no case was filed in this connection,” the OC said.
