Talented youngster Mehedi Hasan Miraz achieved the rare feat as he became the first Bangladeshi cricketer and only the second off-spinner to take consecutive five wickets in his first two Tests during the second Test today.
He became the second player after West Indian Sonny Ramadhin to achieve the consecutive five-for in the first two Tests.
Mehedi took his second five-for in during his second and final Test against England at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
When the visitors went to lunch on day-2, Mehedi walked back to the dressing room with his head held high as his five-for brought Bangladesh in match in the crucial Test match.
He bowled 20 overs, conceding 65 runs and took the wickets of Alastair Cook, Zafar Ansari, Gary Ballance, Moeen Ali and Jonny Bairstow to leave England in a deep trouble.
Mehedi dismissed the English skipper Cook for 14 in the fifth over bowled. In his 11th over, he struck again on England innings to sent back Gary Ballance for 9.
Early on day-2 Mehedi took the wicket of Moeen Ali. Jonny Bairstow was dismissed for 24 in the 33rd over. Zafar Ansari became the fifth victim for Mehedi when he fell for 13 runs. Mehedi finally finished his spells today taking six English wickets giving away 82 runs.
