Grameenphone Ltd. has signed Wasfia Nazreen as its brand ambassador. Wasfia, the first and only Bangladeshi to summit the seven highest mountains in all seven continents, will work together with Grameenphone to empower the society.
Wasfia began her epic adventure in 2011 to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence and the progress women have made in this short time showing resiliency in all fronts. In 2015, she went on to become the first Bangladeshi and only Bengali to complete the Seven Summits, upholding Bangladesh in the global platform through a very rare record.
About her becoming the brand ambassador of Grameenphone, an elated Wasfia said, “I feel proud to be involved with a trusted brand like Grameenphone! Everest summiteer Wasfia thinks Grameenphone is not only a business organization, as it has been working with social responsibility since the very beginning for the holistic development of the society. Since her student life, Wasfia has been involved in human rights, development, research, advocacy and environmental conservation. In 2014, she was honored by National Geographic as an Adventurer of the Year for her activism and commitment to empowering women through her work in the field of adventure. In 2016 she was chosen again as a National Geographic Emerging Explorer, becoming the first female to hold both adventurer and explorer titles in the Society. Wasfia will keep up her journey towards success along with Grameenphone.
