On Thursday, Microsoft Technology Licensing LLC and Ryussi Technologies Private Ltd. announced a new partnership in business and technology solutions covering Microsoft’s File Access Server Protocols for the enterprise data storage market.
The agreement comes as Ryussi Technologies releases to the data storage market MoSMB V 1.0, an ANSI C implementation of the SMB 2/3 protocol on Linux, which contains customer interfaces to integrate into diverse storage stacks.
“Microsoft’s patent collaboration with Ryussi Technologies will offer enhanced interoperability between Windows and non-Windows computers worldwide,” said Nick Psyhogeos, president of Microsoft Technology Licensing.
“This SMB file-sharing relationship provides consumers with even better business solutions across products around the globe, continuing Microsoft’s legacy of supporting innovation, mobility and productivity for businesses.”
“The MoSMB enterprise-class architecture supports high performance, high scalability and continuous availability to meet the present and future needs of NAS manufacturers,” said Sandeep Bhambani, CEO of Ryussi Technologies.
“Our collaboration with Microsoft will allow manufacturers to leverage MoSMB to expand its NAS offering to include SMB with a dramatically decreased time to market and increased ‘first time right’ chance.”
