Hong Kong stocks on Friday recovered some of the previous day’s losses in the first few minutes of trade but Shanghai extended losses that came after data showing a slight easing in Chinese economic growth. The Hang Seng Index rose 0.78 percent, or 218.25 points, to 28,377.34.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slid 0.20 percent, or 6.66 points, to 3,363.51 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, slipped 0.22 percent, or 4.36 points, to 1,979.36, reports BSS.
