Bangladesh is a potential economic destination in South Asia, and France has shown a great interest in increasing its interests there.
According to a news release, during a meeting with Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir at the Secretariat in the city today, French Ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marc Sánchez-Charlet expressed his interest.
The Ambassador stated during the conference that Bangladesh is a desirable location for foreign investors due to its continuous industrialization, infrastructure development, and sizable consumer market.
The two sides discussed issues relating to the creation of a business-friendly environment, expansion of investment opportunities, infrastructure development, and strengthening long-term strategic partnerships. Ambassador Sánchez-Charlet applauded the government’s efforts to streamline and improve commercial procedures.According to Muktadir, the administration is carrying out a number of measures to keep the economy competitive and conducive to investment.
He pointed out that a particular focus is being put on making conducting business easier by lowering administrative complexity, digitizing approval procedures, and guaranteeing quicker services for investors.
The meeting was also attended by Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Secretary (Routine Duty) of the Ministry of Commerce.
