80 Bangladeshi women suspected of counterfeiting currency in India

According to a report by India Today, India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has set up a camp in Agra and is keeping an eye on 80 Bangladeshi women, who are suspected “to be engaged in fake currency dealings.”

The NIA started the probe this after arresting a Bangladeshi woman, Apan Sheikh from Kolkata, in connection with fake currency dealing. This was triggered by a story India Today broke in February this year.

Currently, the NIA is tracking 80 such women in Agra and Firozabad. They have not yet revealed the identities of the suspects.
