12 fresh dengue cases detected overnight in Bangladesh, health official said

Health officials today said they recorded 12 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.

“We recorded 12 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8 am today,” a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said, reports BSS.

“Out of the seven fresh cases, one was hospitalised in Barishal division, four were in Chattogram division, three in Dhaka division, three in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and one in Rajshahi division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year claimed four lives and inflicted 1,451 people.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
