Govt reiterates unwavering commitment to safeguarding interfaith unity

Declaring that any attempt to sabotage the country’s religious cohabitation will be dealt with the full force of the law, the interim administration has reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to preserving interfaith harmony and togetherness.

In a news release released this afternoon by the Chief Adviser’s news Wing regarding the arrest of a suspected 28-year-old man in relation to a slew of recent cocktail attacks in the capital Dhaka, the government reiterated the pledge.

The release said, initial police investigation has identified him as a member of Chhatra League, the outlawed student wing of the deposed Awami League whose activities have been banned by the government.

It further stated that the suspect is being questioned about a number of occurrences, including the cocktail blasts on the grounds of the renowned Catholic-run St. Joseph School and St. Mary’s Cathedral in Kakrail.

In order to capture everyone responsible for these horrible and cowardly acts of violence, the DMP has stepped up a citywide manhunt in collaboration with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), according to the press statement.

It stated that all churches and places of worship in the capital, regardless of religion, had increased security.
