Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain announced that the ongoing ‘Youth Festival,’ aimed at energizing the country’s youth to build a new Bangladesh, will continue until December 31, 2025.
He made this statement at a review meeting of the National Committee on the Implementation of the Youth Festival-2025, held at the Ministry of Public Administration conference room on Tuesday.
Asif Mahmud, who also serves as the LGRD and Cooperatives Adviser, chaired the meeting. Representatives from 25 concerned ministries, including the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, participated.
The adviser reviewed the festival’s progress and provided essential guidelines to the relevant ministries and departments for its smooth and comprehensive implementation.
To expand the festival internationally, Asif Mahmud stated that initiatives have been taken to involve regional organizations, including SAARC, and a policy decision has been made to organize a “Global Youth Summit.”
The youth festival, which commenced on December 30, 2024, under the theme “Esho Desh Bodlai, Prithibi Bodlai (Let’s Change the Country and Change the World),” is being celebrated with significant enthusiasm nationwide.
According to organizers, the festival is fostering a sense of unity, cooperation, and the inspiration for self-employment among the youth, enabling them to become valuable assets to the country.
Although the festival was initially slated to conclude on February 19, the government’s subsequent decision extended the festival period until December 31, 2025.
In the first phase of the festival, 7,166,473 youth directly participated in various programs across the country, with 2,742,171 of them being women. Out of the 13,711 organized events, 2,931 were sports and cultural events specifically for women.
Notably, an Under-17 football tournament is being organized from the union to the divisional level, managed by the District Sports Office under the supervision of the Sports Directorate.
The ‘Youth Festival 2025’ is an initiative of the Chief Adviser’s Office, implemented under the leadership of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and in collaboration with 26 ministries.

The meeting was informed that the primary objectives of this festival are to awaken the spirit of national unity and cooperation, develop youth as self-reliant entrepreneurs, and highlight positive initiatives at local and grassroots levels on an international scale.
