Biman flight makes emergency landing after technical glitch

A Singapore-bound Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) this morning due to a technical glitch shortly after takeoff. All 154 passengers and seven crew members on board are reported safe, according to airport officials.

The Boeing 737-800 aircraft, operating as flight BG 584, departed HSIA at 8:38 AM. Upon reaching an altitude of approximately 2,500 feet, the captain identified an engine-related issue and promptly decided to return to Dhaka. The aircraft landed safely at 8:59 AM and was subsequently parked at Bay 14 of the airport.

HSIA authorities confirmed that all passengers and crew disembarked without incident and are in good health. Following the successful landing, airport officials conducted a comprehensive inspection of the runway, finding no evidence of foreign objects or bird strikes.

A detailed technical review of the aircraft is currently underway. Officials stated that decisions regarding the aircraft’s future operational schedule will be made based on the findings of this assessment.
