Bangladesh mission launches e-passport in Japan 

The e-passport service for Bangladeshi expatriates living in Japan was introduced today by the Bangladesh Embassy.
According to a message received here, the project was launched today at the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo by Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser M Siraz Uddin Miah.

Speaking at the event, he stated that the introduction of the e-passport service will facilitate travel and immigration from Japan.

According to him, the administration has taken a number of actions to improve the welfare of foreigners.

“The government has resolved the long-standing complaints of expatriates about getting passports on time in different countries. Now expatriates are getting passports in a short time,” Mia said.
 
Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan Md. Daud Ali said a long-standing demand of expatriate Bangladeshis living in Japan has been fulfilled through the launching of e-passport service.

Major Abu Bakar Muhammad Siddiqur Rahman, assistant project director for the automated border control management and e-passport project, also gave a speech at the event.

The event was attended by representatives of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the e-passport initiative, the Department of Immigration and Passports, and members of the Bangladeshi community residing in Japan.
