176 more Bangladeshis to return home Friday from Libya

176 citizens of Bangladesh are scheduled to board a Libyan Burak Air flight early Friday morning to return home from Libya.

According to a telegram received here from the Bangladeshi embassy in Libya, the repatriation, which was facilitated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), involves 106 people who were held at the Tajoura Detention Center in Tripoli.

It further stated that the remaining 70 citizens chose to return home of their own free will from dangerous circumstances.

Major General Abul Hasnat Muhammad Khairul Bashar, the ambassador of Bangladesh to Libya, and other embassy representatives said goodbye to the detained migrants at the Libyan Immigration Department’s receiving facility and the repatriation expatriates at the embassy’s grounds.

At that time they were provided with detailed information about the various steps made by the embassy to ensure their safe return to Bangladesh.
