Dutch textile trade mission to visit Bangladesh next week

From February 10 to 13, 18 Dutch firms will travel to Bangladesh as part of a trade delegation called the Netherlands Circular Textile Trade Mission, which aims to foster business-to-business cooperation with Bangladesh’s apparel and textile industry.

According to a press release issued here today, the trade mission will comprise representatives from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, clothing firms, impact investors, and businesses developing verifiable solutions to support circular fashion.

As part of the Netherlands Circular Textile initiative, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Dutch embassy in Bangladesh are collaborating to organize the first-ever trade mission to Bangladesh with the help of Clean & Unique, an export partner of BGMEA and the Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE).

In honor of the visit, Andre Carsten, Charge D’Affairs at the Dutch embassy in Dhaka, stated that a trade mission between Bangladeshi manufacturers and Dutch enterprises is an important step in closing technological gaps and building solid business relationships.

Recognized as the second-largest exporter, Bangladesh has made a name for itself in the global textile industry. According to him, the textile industry is essential to economic expansion and has prospered despite numerous national and international obstacles.

The Dutch delegation will take part in the Bangladesh Apparel Exchange’s (BAE) 6th Sustainable Apparel Forum (SAF) 2025 while there.

To encourage trade and investment that benefits people, generate jobs and stimulate business, and transfer knowledge and skills, they will tour BGMEA and a number of RMG & Textile firms in the Savar, Gazipur area, according to the statement.
