Zambia invites Bangladesh for drug plant

Zambia, a country in southern Africa, is interested in pharmaceutical items created in Bangladesh and has urged Bangladesh to investigate the possibility of establishing a pharmaceutical plant on its territory.

According to a press release from the ministry today, the request was made during the first visit of Percy P. Chanda, the recently appointed Zambian High Commissioner to Bangladesh (who now resides in New Delhi), to Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain at the foreign ministry here on Thursday.

During the meeting, the envoy conveyed interest in importing jute and jute products from Bangladesh while highlighting the potentials for Bangladesh to import copper from Zambia. 

Both sides discussed matters of mutual interests, emphasizing the need to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance trade cooperation. 

They also explored potential areas including agriculture and contract farming for future collaboration between Zambia and Bangladesh, the release said.
