The likelihood of negotiating a Visa Waiver Agreement for bearers of diplomatic and official passports belonging to the citizens of both Uganda and Bangladesh has been explored.
According to an official news statement, the conversation took place today at the foreign ministry in Uganda when Joyce Kakuramatsi Kikafunda, Uganda’s non-resident High Commissioner to Bangladesh, paid Md. Touhid Hossain a courtesy call.
Uganda’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Bangladesh was underlined by the envoy during the meeting, which also saw him congratulating the foreign adviser on his new position.
The regular conduct of Foreign Office Consultations was one of the main areas of cooperation that were discussed.
Additionally, both parties looked into ways to work together in the agricultural industry, especially through contract farming, and stressed the value of exchanging information and technology.
They also emphasised how crucial agreements on investment protection and avoiding double taxation are to advancing bilateral commerce.
The foreign adviser mentioned Bangladesh’s strong pharmaceutical sector as a possible source of reasonably priced, high-quality goods for Uganda.
Both parties agreed to encourage the exchange of trade delegations to boost economic cooperation between the two countries.
