Educational institutions may remain close till September in Bangladesh

Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina today announced the educational institutions will remain shut till next September if the situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic does not improve.

“We’ll not open educational institutions now. Those will remain shut till at least September next if the present coronavirus continues…we’ll open the educational institutions when the pandemic will stop or come under control,” PM said.

The premier urged the business people not to bother about the interest of the bank loan, saying that the government will consider the stopping of interest payment and how much amount of the interest could be waived.

Sheikh Hasina said her government has already initiated the process of appointing 2000 more physicians and 6000 nurses to ensure treatment of the coronavirus infected patients.

PM said after the recruitment of the doctors and nurses, all of them will be presented special training on treating COVID-19 victims.

She repeated that her government has taken action to set up an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in every district in near future.

The prime minister said the government is lifting the shutdown gradually from where coronavirus has had less impact.
