Kyiv says there is no evidence for Putin residence attack

Kyiv claimed on Tuesday that there was no “plausible” evidence that it had launched a drone assault on one of Vladimir Putin’s homes and accused Moscow of making up stories in an attempt to influence negotiations to put an end to its invasion.

A day earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a warning, urging citizens of the city to remain vigilant, as Russia was preparing the ground for an attack on Kyiv.

On Monday, Moscow said that Ukraine had launched drones toward Putin’s remote residence in the Novgorod region, which is located between Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

The Kremlin declared on Tuesday that it saw it as a “terrorist act” and a “personal attack against Putin,” but it was unable to offer proof because the drones were “all shot down.”

Additionally, it stated that the Russian army had decided “how, when, and where” to strike back against Ukraine.

For nearly four years, Russia has bombarded Ukraine with drones and missiles nearly every day, killing thousands.

In negotiations to put an end to Europe’s worst crisis since World War II, the Kremlin further declared that it will now “toughen” its stance.

Despite the fact that Russia made the claim about twenty-four hours ago, Kyiv emphasized that Moscow had not produced any proof. “Almost a day passed and Russia still hasn’t provided any plausible evidence,” its foreign minister Andriy Sybiga posted on social media.

“And they won’t. since none exist. No such assault took place.

Following Moscow’s accusation, European leaders united behind Zelensky and, according to Poland, were scheduled to address the war later on Tuesday.

“We are advancing the peace process. Everyone, including Russia, must now be honest and transparent, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated on social media.

Despite Ukraine’s claim that the incident was a Russian fabrication, US President Donald Trump criticized Kyiv on Monday after speaking with Putin. “You know who told me about it? Early in the morning, President Putin claimed to have been attacked. Trump declared, “It’s not good. It’s one thing to be offensive because they’re offensive.” Attacking his home is a different matter,” the US president stated.

Putin’s location at the time has not been disclosed by Russia.

Much of the former Russian leader’s personal life is hidden in Russia, including his homes.
