Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) President Tabith Awal distributed certificates to the football academies registered in different parts of the country under the accreditation scheme run by the BFF.
On the occasion a colorful programme was organised at the district Council Auditorium in Rajshahi today (Friday).
BFF President Tabith Awal was present as the chief guest at the event, said a BFF press release here.
BFF vice-president Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, its executive members Shakhwat Hossain Bhuiyan Shaheen and Kamrul Hasan Hilton and Technical Committee Chairman were present, among others.
In 2020, the BFF technical committee started the nationwide academy registration process in accordance with the AFC and FIFA guidelines. That year, 78 academies were registered. Later, 40 academies were registered in 2021, 25 in 2022, 35 in 2023, and another 110 academies were registered by April 1, 2025. So far, a total of 268 ‘one star’ and 17 ‘two star’ academies have been registered with the BFF.
The BFF Academy Championship 2023-24 was held with the participation of its registered academies, where games were organised at 24 venues funded by FIFA. In which, 4,800 young footballers participated.
Thirty five talented footballers selected from the tournament were brought under the BFF Elite Academy. In addition, a total of 550 coaches received certificates after participating in grassroots coaching courses from the BFF-registered academies at eight divisional levels from 2020 to 2024.
After the certificate presentation ceremony, BFF Technical Director Saiful Bari Titu conducted a workshop where detailed discussions were held on the development, management and training methods of the academies.
