Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on April 27 for a two-day official visit.
This marks the first visit by a Pakistani foreign minister to Bangladesh since 2012. The visit was confirmed during a Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) held between Bangladesh and Pakistan in Dhaka, as reported by Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin.
The upcoming visit is expected to focus on enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries. Foreign Secretary Jashim Uddin mentioned that several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are under discussion, with a working group comprising officials from both nations aiming to finalize these agreements.
The last visit by a Pakistani foreign minister to Dhaka was in 2012 when former Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar visited Bangladesh.
