Meghna Alam, the model and Miss Earth Bangladesh 2020 winner, has been sentenced to 30 days in jail under the detention act by a Dhaka court.
After a hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah’s court issued the decision on Thursday.
The court order states that Meghna has been detained for 30 days in accordance with Section 3(1) of the Special Powers Act, 1974, in order to keep her from participating in any activity that would endanger public safety or law and order, as those terms are defined in Section 2(f) of the act.
