According to President Mohammed Shahabuddin, Bangladesh has vehemently denounced and opposed the Israeli occupation troops’ indiscriminate slaughter of innocent civilians in Palestine, particularly women and children.
When Yousef S.Y. Ramadan, the ambassador of Palestine to Bangladesh, paid him a courtesy call at Bangabhaban here today, he said those things.
Newsmen were later briefed by Md. Joynal Abedin, the president’s press secretary.
According to the president, Bangladesh has consistently contributed significantly to the resolution of the Palestine issue in a number of international fora, such as the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the United Nations (UN).
President Shahabuddin emphasized that this support for the Palestinians would not stop in the near future.
The ambassador praised the Bangladeshi people for their cooperation and sympathy with the Palestinian people during the meeting.
Press Secretary Md. Joynal Abedin, Military Secretary Major General Mohammad Adil Chowdhury, and Senior Secretary Nasimul Ghani of the President’s Office were also in attendance.
