India’s Rishabh Pant sold for record $3.2 mn in IPL auction

According to a live broadcast, India’s Rishabh Pant smashed auction records in the Indian Premier League on Sunday when the wicketkeeper-batsman was acquired by the Lucknow Super Giants for 270 million rupees ($3.2 million).

In the first group of high-profile players in the ongoing auction in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah, Punjab Kings paid Shreyas Iyer 267.5 million ($3.17 million), but the winning price for Pant exceeded that amount.
