Hamas leader Haniyeh tells Al Jazeera three sons killed in Gaza strike

Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, announced on Wednesday that an Israeli strike in the Gaza Strip claimed the lives of three of his sons and numerous of his grandkids.

The political leader of the Palestinian party, who resides in Qatar, attested to “the martyrdom of my three sons and some of my grandchildren” to Al Jazeera.

His boys’ car was struck in the Al-Shati camp, which is close to Gaza City, according to media affiliated with Hamas.

According to Haniyeh, the event will not alter Hamas’s demands in negotiations for a cease-fire agreement.

Haniyeh refuted the accusation made by Israel’s military that the sons belonged to Hamas’s armed wing.

According to reports, the group was traveling to a family celebration in honor of the first day of Eid, a Muslim holiday.

Three sons, Muhammad, Amir, and Hazem, had stayed in Gaza during the conflict, Haniyeh revealed to the station Al Jazeera.

Four of Haniyeh’s grandkids, Mona, Amal, Khaled, and Razan, were among those slain in what Hamas later claimed to be a “treacherous and cowardly” strike.

While visiting injured Palestinians who had been flown to the capital of Qatar, Doha, for medical attention—the home of the head of Hamas—Haniyeh claimed to have learned of the news.
