North Korean satellite takes pictures of White House, Pentagon

According to the North Korean Central News Agency, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is acquainted with the images of the Pentagon and the White House captured by the Malligyong-1 reconnaissance satellite.

Early on November 28, the leader received a second report from the Pyongyang General Control Center of the National Aerospace Technology Administration regarding the satellite’s readiness for an extensive reconnaissance mission.

The news agency presented photos of the Naval Station Norfolk, Newport News Shipbuilding and an airfield area in the US state of Virginia taken at 11:35 p.m. Pyongyang time (2:35 p.m. GMT) on November 27, as well as images of the White House and the Pentagon taken at 11:36 p.m. Pyongyang time (2:36 p.m. GMT) on November 27.

The news agency claims that the images taken at Newport News Shipbuilding and Naval Station Norfolk feature four nuclear-powered US Navy aircraft carriers in addition to a British aircraft carrier.

A picture of the US Andersen Air Force Base on the island of Guam in the Pacific Ocean, taken on November 27 at 9:17 a.m. Pyongyang time (12:17 a.m. GMT), was also previously shown to Kim Jong Un. The leader of North Korea also got to know the image of the Italian capital that was taken late on November 25.

North Korea launched its first Malligyong-1 spy satellite on a Chollima-1 carrier rocket successfully on November 21.

On November 22, South Korea responded by announcing a partial suspension of the deal with North Korea to lower tensions. The no-fly zone was impacted by the legislation. The North Korean Defense Ministry declared on November 23 that it would no longer adhere to the terms of the agreement in its entirety and would once again carry out the activities that are forbidden by it.
