The topics of hostage release and humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip were discussed between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Joe Biden.
During a phone call, Biden praised Hamas for the prisoners it has released over the last three days, and the two decided to keep pushing for the release of all detainees that Hamas now holds.
“The two leaders agreed that the work is not yet done and that they will continue working to secure the release of all hostages. The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact over the coming days,” a White House statement said.
According to the White House statement, the two presidents also talked about the need for more humanitarian aid to Gaza and the ceasefire in the conflict.
