Banglalink deployed 15,000 network towers across Bangladesh

Mobile phone operator, Banglalink has deployed 15,000 network towers across Bangladesh as part of its ongoing effort to expand 4G services countrywide significantly.

“Over the last year and a half, more than 4,700 of these network towers have been activated,” said the operator in a release today.

The operator claimed that this expansion has resulted in a remarkable 66 percent data subscriber growth – a steadfast drive towards delivering the fastest 4G coverage in the country. In the meantime, Banglalink’s customer base reached 42.85 million in September 2023, reports BSS.

Banglalink said that it has upgraded over 10,500 existing sites with high-capacity equipment to ensure optimum network quality, including various spectrum utilizations such as L900, L1800, and L2300.

The operator’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Erik Aas said, “With more robust network presence, we are committed to adding new chapters in Banglalink’s journey as a truly national digital operator.”

Banglalink accredited these achievements to its various strategic partners, including Tower Companies, Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network (NTTN) Operators, vendors, and others.

Chief Technology and Information Officer (CTIO), H?seyin T?rker said, “Over 30 percent of our network sites were activated in just 1.5 years, setting a new industry benchmark for network expansion.”
