Young climate activists from Barisal organized a global climate strike to call for a reduction in damaging fossil fuel use and an increase in the use of renewable energy sources.
On Thursday, the event was put on by Youthnet for Climate Justice at the Trish Godown neighborhood along the Kirtankhola River.
At the time, climate campaigners pushed for a reduction in the nation’s reliance on LNG imports and a halt to support for fossil fuels.

The young people took part in the program while carrying banners with different demands.
At the instigation of “Fridays for Future,” a school student-led initiative started by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, the climate strike is being observed globally.
