Saudi Arabia firm to invest $100 million in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City

A data center would be built in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City (BHTC) at Kaliakor in the Gazipur district at a cost of US$100 million, according to DataVolt, a leading Saudi Arabian power and data center development company.

According to a news release, DataVolt Chief Strategy Officer Ayad Al Amri made this declaration during a meeting with State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak in a major hotel today.

The corporation has been promised by Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) that three acres of land in the high-tech metropolis will be initially allocated for the construction of a contemporary data center.

Palak congratulated the DataVolt officials for expressing an interest in investing in the high-tech city and highlighted the government incentives for investment and potentials of the BHTC. He also assured them of full cooperation from his ministry.

The meeting was attended by the managing director of the BHTPA, GSM Jafarullah, as well as other BHTPA and DataVolt representatives.
