BAT Bangladesh holds Extraordinary General Meeting

British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company Limited (BAT Bangladesh) held its Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) through a digital platform on 29th March 2023, Wednesday at 10.30 am.

Chairman of BAT Bangladesh Mr. Golam Mainuddin presided over the meeting where a significant number of shareholders from different areas of the country and even from abroad participated through a virtual platform.

In this EGM shareholders of the Company unanimously approved that Article 77 of the Articles of Association of the Company be and is hereby amended and substituted to read as follows:

“Article 77: Unless and until otherwise determined by the Company in General Meeting, the number of Directors shall not be less than five nor more than fifteen.”

In 2022, BAT Bangladesh has contributed BDT 29,530 crore as Value Added Tax (VAT), Supplementary Duty (SD) and other taxes to the national exchequer, making BAT Bangladesh the highest taxpayer in the country.

Mr. Aftab Ul Islam FCA, Independent Director, Mr. Shirajun Noor Chowdhury, Non-Executive Director, Ms. Zakia Sultana, Non-Executive Director, Mr. K. H. Masud Siddiqui, Independent Director, Mr. Stuart Kidd, Non-Executive Director, Mr. Abul Hossain, Non-Executive Director, Mr. Shehzad Munim, Managing Director, Ms. Amun Mustafiz, Finance Director, and Mr. Md. Azizur Rahman FCS, Company Secretary were present in this EGM.
