17 thousand expatriates detained in Saudi

In just one week, Saudi Arabia, a nation in the Middle East, has detained 17,000 illegal immigrants. The nation’s law enforcement agencies carried out a special mission and detained them. According to state media, they were arrested for breaking the law regarding residency, labor, and the border.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior reported that between March 16 and March 22, 9,259 people were detained for violating the residency legislation, 4,899 people for illegally crossing the boundary, and 2,491 people for labor-related reasons.

18 individuals were apprehended while attempting to flee after committing crimes and aiding criminals, according to the ministry’s report. In addition, 68 more individuals were apprehended as they attempted to flee Saudi Arabia for one of its neighboring nations.

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior has issued a warning, stating that anyone who aids or harbors criminals or facilitates their entrance into the country risks up to 15 years in jail, a fine of one million riyals, or the seizure of their property and vehicles.

In recent years, Saudi Arabia’s security forces have implemented stringent regulations to make sure that nobody is allowed to remain there unlawfully. For several days, they have been performing operations in various regions of the nation to apprehend illegal immigrants. During these raids, many people are detained and subsequently sent back to their home countries.
