Students from the Department of Applied Mathematics, University of Dhaka, organized a unique road painting program on March 14 in celebration of the World Pi day. Facilitated by country’s leading paint solutions brand Berger, students painted the value of Pi across 3.1416 kilometers of roads near the Ganit Bhaban, Shaheed Minar, Jagannath Hall, Fuller Road, VC Chattar, TSC and surrounding regions. Faculties and students involved in the program expressed high hopes to make way into the Guinness Book of World Records through this initiative.

The road painting initiative was carried out amidst a festive vibe as young students set out with paint brushes, all ready to achieve something big. The event was inaugurated by DU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman. Professor Dr. Md. Abdus Samad, Dean, Science Faculty; Dr. Md. Showkat Ali, Professor & Chairman, Department of Applied Mathematics; Dr. Md. Tajul Islam, Additional Director General, duty Exemption and Drawback Office, National Board of Revenue; and Sayed Shorif Russel, Category Manager, Berger Paints Bangladesh, also graced the event, alongside other respected guests.
