Liton Das of Bangladesh attained a singular height by rising to the top spot among batters for his nation in the ICC Test rankings.
According to the most recent rankings announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) today, he did indeed break his own record as he rose to position 11 from position 12. He now has 702 rating points, 14 fewer than Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand, the No. 10 batsman.
It will be more difficult for him to become the first Bangladeshi batter to crack the top 10 because there haven’t been any Test matches scheduled recently for Bangladesh.
He nonetheless passed famous cricketers Usman Khawaja, Virat Kohli, and David Warner by going up to position 11. Liton moved up to position 12 in the list of Test batters following the Mirpur Test against India last week. In June of this year, he previously held this post.
Liton surged beyond that spot and nearly made it into the top 10 but was unable to surpass his prior rating point record. In June of the current year, his rating was at 724. The batter from Bangladesh with this rating has the highest rating to date.
Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh have dropped two spots in the most recent ICC Test batting rankings; Mushfiqur is now ranked 22nd, and Shakib is 42nd.
With 925 rating points, Australian Marnus Labuschagne leads the Test batting standings. Pakistan’s Babar Azam is two, and his countryman Steven Smith is three.
