Not in someone else’s name, women stood out long ago to flourish in their own name. And many women in Bangladesh have chosen entrepreneurship as their way of doing it. In recent days, social media platforms have taken their journey several steps forward. Making products by themselves or sourcing from factories, they are establishing their own businesses.
However, even after starting a business in many cases women entrepreneurs face various obstacles. One of the major obstacles is shortage of capital. Due to this capital deficiency, many women are not able to expand their business. Apart from this, training is another important factor to growing the business and moving forward with modernity. Many women in our country are deprived of this training facility.
As a result, they find it very difficult to reach customers all around the country, beyond the limits of their own area or city.
To remove these barriers and move our women entrepreneurs forward, Daraz has come up with an idea competition called “Becho Bacho”. Where women entrepreneurs can win the opportunity of becoming the best female entrepreneur by submitting their product—based business ideas. Initially, top 100 participants will be selected and shall be trained by Daraz on a virtual platform. The topics of the training sessions will cover multiple aspects of entrepreneurship.
The next round will select the top 10 and the top 3 will be selected by the grand finale. The inners of this “Becho Bacho” contest will get prize money ranging from Tk 50,000 — Tk 1 25,000, crest with the chance to become Daraz’s seller. And also, Daraz will hold various events with the winners of “Becho Bacho” throughout the year.
