COVID-19 vaccines have been given to 12.47 million people so far, according to the DGHS

Since the countrywide immunization campaign began on February 7, last year, a total of 12,47,00000 persons have received COVID-19 vaccinations with single, dual, or booster doses.

“Expansion of vaccination is the most effective remedy to rein the spread of coronavirus… as part of the vaccine expansion program, we launched special inoculation campaign from February 17 to February 25 and set three-day mass vaccination drive that began on February 26,” Dr Shamsul Haque, member secretary of the National Covid-19 Vaccine Management Taskforce, told a virtual briefing here today.

Shamsul, who is also the head of the Directorate General of Health Services, claimed that between February 17 and March 1, a total of 2.32 crore persons were inoculated with the first dosage, 1.7 crore with the second dose, and ten lakh with the booster dose.

He stated that during the last 13 days, 3,49,00000 persons had gotten various dosages of COVID-19 immunizations.

On February 26 (the first day of the campaign), 1,11,74,725 persons received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, with 19,33,775 receiving the second dosage.

He also stated that 15,69,44 people were vaccinated on February 27 (the second day of the campaign), while 15,69,44 people received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on February 28 (the last day of the drive).
