In France, Farooki’s film “No Land’s Man” receives the Prix du Public

The first international language film by acclaimed filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, “No Land’s Man,” earned the prized Prix du Public (fiction film audience) award at the 28th Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinema in France on Tuesday, according to UNB.

On Wednesday, Farooki announced the news on his Facebook page while in France for the screening of his film and the award ceremony.

“No Land’s Man has been my most special! Tonight this special film won Prix du Public at Vesoul film festival. This award is for my big fat team from three continents! Love you all! Can’t wait for the audience to see the film. Hopefully soon!,” Farooki wrote.

Last Saturday, the festival hosted the world premiere of “No Land’s Man.” Farooki, on the other hand, may attend the second viewing on Sunday. After the screening, he took part in a live Q&A session.

In several locales, the major theme of the film is around the misery of a third-world human being’s existential crisis.

The film stars acclaimed Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, as well as prominent Bangladeshi singer-actor Tahsan Khan, Australian debutant Megan Mitchell, and Indian actors Isha Chopra, Vikram Kochhar, and Kiran Khoje.

“No Land’s Man,” a joint venture by Dialectic and Chabial in Bangladesh, in collaboration with India’s Magic If Films, Bangladesh’s Sun Music & Motion Pictures, and Bongo BD, has also partnered up with the Oscar-BAFTA-Grammy-winning world-famous Indian composer AR Rahman for its music production.

The film’s executive producers are Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, Anjan Chowdhury, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Shrihari Sathe, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, A R Rahman, and Faridur Reza Sagar.
