India allocates Rs 300 crore for Bangladesh in 2022-23 fiscal

Bangladesh will receive Rs 300 crore in financial support from India in the fiscal year 2022-23.

While presenting the budget in parliament today, Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the amount, which is up from Rs 200 crore in the previous fiscal year (2021-2022).

As financial assistance, the allocation was supplied by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Aside from that, the minister announced Rs 600 crore for Myanmar, which is Rs 200 crore higher than the previous fiscal year, Rs 750 crore for Nepal, and Rs 2266.24 crore for Bhutan in the coming fiscal. However, this is less than the Rs 3,004.95 crore in the fiscal year 2021-22.

India, on the other hand, has set aside Rs 200 crore in aid for Taliban-ruled Afghanistan in the fiscal year 2022-23. In August of last year, the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, and India has since delivered humanitarian aid in the form of medicine to the country.

The Maldives will get Rs 360 million (as against Rs 250 crore in 2021-22) In today’s budget draft, India’s annual aid provision was also increased.

The Indian Ocean island of Mauritius, which will receive Rs 900 crore in the coming financial year, will be the second-highest recipient of the allocation.
