The height of Everest increased according to new announcement

The height of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, has changed. Nepal and China have jointly announced an increase in the height of ‘decimal 86 meters’ than before.

When Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Nepal in 2016, the issue of measuring the height of Everest came to the fore anew. After those new statistics came out after a long effort of both the countries.

At present, the height of Everest is 8848.8 meters or 29,031 feet, the British media reported on Tuesday (December 8). In a joint statement, the two countries described the new height as a “historic moment” for the world.

Nepal and China have been at loggerheads over the height of the world’s highest peak in recent years. Officials from Nepal’s foreign ministry and survey department confirmed that expert surveyors from both countries had coordinated and reached an agreement on the new height. The Chinese Foreign Minister also spoke in the same tone.

In 2015, a devastating earthquake on Mount Everest caused extensive damage. Then comes the question of measuring its height anew.
