Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has received grants from a number of organizations, including 34 commercial banks, for the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund to support government efforts to address the impact of COVID-19.
The Prime Minister today attended the grant-in-aid ceremony via video conference from Ganobhaban.
Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, Ahmed Kaikaus accepted the grant check on behalf of the Prime Minister. Sheikh Hasina expressed her gratitude to the organizations for providing relief assistance to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund to combat the coronavirus.
Banks under the leadership of Bangladesh Bank Association (BAB) provide the most grants. The donors are 34 commercial banks – AB Bank Limited, Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited, Bank Asia Limited, BRAC Bank Limited, City Bank Limited, Dhaka Bank Limited, Dutch Bangla Bank Limited, Eastern Bank Limited, Exim Bank Limited, First Security Islami Bank LTD., Islami Bank (BD) Ltd., Jamuna Bank Ltd., Mercantile Bank Ltd., Midland Bank Ltd., Madhumati Bank Ltd., Mutual Trust Bank Ltd., National Bank Ltd., NCC Bank Ltd., NRB Bank Ltd., NRB Comercial Bank LTD., NRB Global Bank LTD., One Bank Limited, Padma Bank Limited, Prime Bank Limited, Pubali Bank Limited, SBAC Bank Limited, Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited, Social Islami Bank Limited, South East Bank Limited, Standard Bank Limited, Trust Bank LTD., Union Bank LTD., United Commercial Bank Limited and Uttara Bank Limited.
In addition, 6 more organizations – Directorate General of Food, FOSA (Foreign Officers Spouse Association), Rajshahi Medical University, Bangladesh Architects Institute, Bangladesh Judicial Employees Association, and Minister Group contributed in the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund.
